This is a FREE ADMISSION show for every art lover in our region and for visitor tourists. The show is a joyous celebration of colour, on display at the O'Connor Group Art Gallery, and presented by the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association, until August 6, 2022. Paintings are by Chilliwack resident, Hussein Rostum. He says his goal is to create colourful paintings that intrigue, engage, and inspire people to make art and beauty an ongoing part of their lives, as it has always been in his.

Beat the heat in the shade! Walk ~2 km (round trip) along the flat and graveled Luckakuck Creek Trail which runs along the interface between urban areas, agricultural land, and intact wildlife habitat. Along the way, learn to identify common trees and plants, discuss invasive species, hear about the fish and wildlife that live in and around the creek, and see what an oasis streamside areas can be on hot days.

This year the Chilliwack Fair celebrates 150 years! To commemorate this momentous occasion we are having a kickoff party on the evening of Thursday August 4th featuring Default with all original band members! The Fair will continue the celebration from Friday August 5th to Sunday August 7th. The culture and heritage of Chilliwack is what makes our community strong and unique. The Fair is an opportunity to celebrate all that the community has to offer and despite being the foundation on which it was built, the Fair is about much more than agriculture. We are proud to feature many local artists, organizations and businesses throughout the Fair. Opportunities to participate in the Fair are countless, whether as a 4-H member showing a favourite animal, an entrant in the annual Fruit Pie Baking Contest, an event sponsor, or a volunteer in any capacity during fair time. We look forward to celebrating 150 years with you!

We will be hosting an onsite, end of summer Career Fair: Tuesday August 23rd 10:00am to 1:00pm (drop in style) CSCL Main Office (9353 Mary Street) We will be accepting resumes and offering interviews on the spot for qualified candidates: • Class 7 license (with Class 5 road test booked in the next 6 months) or higher – yes, this qualification has now changed! • At least two doses of the Covid Vaccine We are also happy to chat with anyone who is not sure about applying, but would like to find out more about CSCL and the opportunities that exist. Sunday, August 21 Heading into our 28th airshow season, this remarkable event continues to impress the international airshow industry. Year after year, our continued community support and outstanding sponsoring organizations assist us to host this FREE ADMISSION, family fun event, while offering the opportunity to learn about aircraft and aviation opportunities. The Chilliwack Airshow is one of only a few free admission shows left in North America. To help keep it that way, the only role the public must play is to arrive and enjoy the efforts of our superb volunteer team, cheer on our inspiring performers and spread the word! August 2022, the Chilliwack Airport is the place to be!

Chilliwack Mural Festival is a historic downtown public art festival that combines the live creation of large-scale murals with some of Canada’s and the World’s emerging and established artists. The event is from 11am-7pm and will have performances and activities throughout downtown Chilliwack.

The Tour de Cure, benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation is BC’s largest cycling fundraiser with over 2,000 participants expected. All will enjoy a beautiful ride through the gentle rolling terrain of the Fraser Valley. It all culminates with a celebratory finish and BBQ at Heritage Park.

The event will be filled with determined cyclists of all kinds, cheering supporters, and an overwhelming sense of community and companionship.
