The Sardis Park Artisan and Farmer Market is held each Wednesday between May 3 and August 30. Vendor set up is 2:30 pm each Wednesday and the market starts promptly at 4pm and closes at 8pm.

Join us on May 14th for Run for Mom – a 5K fun walk/run. This is a Mother’s Day celebration and fundraising event for the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation supporting the maternity department at Chilliwack General Hospital. Year after year, participants and their families help raise money directly benefiting programs for women and children at Chilliwack General Hospital. Since 2000, Run for Mom has raised funds to purchase equipment such as: fetal monitors, infant resuscitator, labour delivery bed, fetal monitor, oxygen analyzer, glidescope, jaundice meter, isolette, specialized surgical table and more. Location: Vedder River / Garrison Dog Park Registration/warm-up: 8:30am Start: 9:00am

There will be an Early Years Fair at the Sardis Library on May 17th from 11:00am – 1:00pm. This is a community focused farmers market that runs every (except June 2nd) Friday from 5pm until dusk. There is always live music, food trucks, and lots of local vendors that you are able to support.

This farmers market runs every Friday with the exception of June 2nd. We will have a market in Yarrow Pioneer park from 5pm-dusk on May 26, June 9, June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28, August 4, August 11, August 18, August 25, September 1st.

The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, presented by Go Auto, is the largest fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. The Walk provides an impactful way for British Columbians to celebrate and remember people in their lives who have been affected by dementia, while raising valuable funds and awareness to create change. Each year we honour someone within Chilliwack who has been affected by dementia or who has valuably contributed to the lives of people living with the disease. This year, we honour Taylor Ogsten and Karen Stewart. Taylor first observed changes in his way of thinking three and a half years ago. What was initially diagnosed as mild cognitive impairment (MCI) soon progressed to early-stage dementia. There is no person Taylor would prefer by his side on his dementia journey than his wife, Karen. After 34 years of marriage, the couple finds happiness in their love for one another. BC EggFest is a unique gathering that brings together Big Green Egg BBQ fans, experienced cooks, and BBQ competition teams from all over the province for a day of fun and delicious food. The main attraction of the event is the 15+ cook teams who will be showcasing their grilling skills and talents, while preparing and demonstrating their specialty recipes all day long for the "Tasters" to enjoy. With a wide range of dishes on offer, from breakfast fare to pizza, beef, pork, chicken, duck, and dessert, there is something for everyone to enjoy. We are also proud to add a vegetarian cook team to the mix, ensuring that everyone's dietary needs are taken care of. In addition to the amazing food, BC EggFest also offers live music featuring local entertainment and even axe throwing! Many local food producers are participating in BC EggFest as well, such as Johnston's Pork, Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry, Valley Tank & Container and Bannister Auto Group, to name a few.
