| Description: 1 pm - 2 pm Radon is an invisible, radioactive gas released into the air from the decay of uranium, a metal that’s naturally present in some rocks and soil. Radon can enter homes and buildings through cracks and openings in foundations and walls and can accumulate to harmful levels. Long-term exposure is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers, and is attributed to over 3,000 deaths in Canada each year. Fortunately, testing for radon is simple, not too costly, and there are solutions if you find elevated levels. Our presentation provides information on the health impacts of radon, how to test and how to mitigate the effects. Drop in. | ||
