| Description: A local, Christy McLeod, turns 40 on June 15. To celebrate, she decided to host a run, to encourage community, raise $10,000 (from $40 sign up fees) for an organization she knows first hand changes people's lives, to bring people together and to encourage people to train and get outside. This date does not have any other major runs in the lower mainland of this length, so it was a good idea! Christy has run Loop the Vedder and is involved with a local running club, and so felt it would be a wonderful thing to do. The organization Girls Who Leap is a recognized Charitable Status organization. Although Christy is a local from Chilliwack, she has not been here that many years, so chose an organization she knew first hand was helping people. The race will provide a 21km, 10km and 5km option. |
