All residents on the City’s Curbside Collection Program are provided with one green cart for compostable waste (combined food waste, food-soiled paper and yard waste) along with one 121L blue recycling bin and one 27L grey bin for glass collection. The City does not provide garbage containers since residents can use garbage bags at the curb or use their own compliant containers.

Garbage, recycling and glass are collected manually by curbside collection crews. A semi-automated collection system is used for collection of compostable waste.

The green cart and blue recycling bins are collected weekly. Garbage and grey bins are collected on the same bi-weekly schedule.

You can look up your collection schedule, set collection reminders and use Waste Wizard to search for recycling and disposal options below. You can also play our Waste Sorting Game to test your knowledge on what goes where. Please consider using our Chilliwack Curbside Mobile App which is available in the App Store or Google Play.
