Active Transportation Design Project

Civil and electrical engineering detailed design for implementation of active transportation improvements adding to improve cycling facilities and safety in a cost-effective manner.

Bailey Road Multi-Use Pathway

Tzeachten First Nation, in partnership with the City of Chilliwack, is making improvements along Bailey Road between Chilliwack River Road and Matheson Road. Once the project is complete, there will be a new multi-use pathway.

Culvert Projects

Culvert replacements and upgrades are needed to avoid failures that could cause costly repairs and interruptions to traffic. Culvert failures can cause damage to the surrounding riparian environment.

Edward Street Sidewalk

A new sidewalk will be built on the east side of Edward Street.

Knight Road and Mary Street Cycling Improvements

Knight Road and Mary Street will see the installation of bike lanes and other improvements including improved road markings and pavement resurfacing.

Luckakuck Way - Traffic Signal and Safety Improvements Project

Improvements will be made this summer/fall along Luckakuck Way from east of Vedder Road to the Southern Railway bridge (Valley Rail Trail).

Paving Program

Each year the City of Chilliwack tenders asphalt rehabilitation work for various roads to maintain the driving surface and reduce maintenance costs.

Princess Avenue Active Transportation Project

Plans are in place to convert Princess Avenue from Mary Street to Young Road to a one-way street. This will allow room for on-street parking and a protected multi-use pathway.

Roadway Markings Program

Every year the City takes inventory for line markings that need painting and the City's contractor completes the work.

Tyson - Keith Wilson Design-Build Project

Works will include widening, storm main upgrades, drainage works, streetlights, curb, sidewalk and bike lane construction.

Victoria Avenue Parking Lot

The City will be building additional parking capacity downtown, north of Victoria Avenue, this summer.

Yale Road Multi-Use Pathway
