Household Hazardous Waste Day
Household Hazardous Waste Day is an annual event held every October by the City of Chilliwack. Residents can dispose of their household hazardous waste for FREE in an environmentally responsible manner.
Household hazardous waste is accepted from residents residing within the following areas:
- City of Chilliwack
- Electoral Area D (Popkum/Bridal Falls)
- Electoral Area E (Chilliwack River Valley)
- Electoral Area H (Cultus Lake/Columbia Valley)
- Harrison Hot Springs
- Kent/Agassiz
Proof of residency is required to drop off items during the event, and only hazardous wastes that have been used for residential purposes will be accepted. Commercial hazardous waste is not accepted at the event. Businesses with hazardous waste should contact a hazardous waste collection company.

Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Used oil, oil filters, and antifreeze are just some of the items that are accepted at the event – did you know that residential quantities of these items can be dropped off year-round at various local locations under the BC Used Oil Management Association (BCUOMA) program?
