Join us as we bring our communities together virtually to celebrate the 31st annual Parkinson SuperWalk! At Parkinson Society British Columbia (PSBC), we are inspired every day by the strength and resilience of our community. Together, we are united in our commitment to the advocacy, research, and fundraising efforts that are bringing us closer to a future without Parkinson's disease. Funds raised through Parkinson SuperWalk help PSBC continue to offer life-changing programs and services. This year, we are bringing you an engaging virtual SuperWalk experience with monthly exercise challenges, and an online opening ceremony which will be livestreamed on Saturday, September 11th at 10:00am. You can participate by walking in your local community (observing physical distancing), or joining us for a special exercise class following the opening ceremonies! PLAY AT HOME ON ZOOM!!! Join our Fundraiser for Rotaract Club of The Fraser Valley to support Children Without Borders Afghanistan and Haiti relief efforts. Celebrate Music Bingo with a Back To School theme! Bring out the Party Lights and dress up like your back in school!!! Sep 24th, 2021 Time: 7:00 PM PST Zoom opens at 6:30 PM Family-friendly event - Play on Zoom from home Order your cards here: https://online.musicbingo.com/.../rotaract-event-sep.../ Most people will play one or two cards each so order as many as you would like for your household. Cards will be sent out the night before the event by email with instructions to access the Zoom room. No Vaccines Card needed Zoom Music Bingo is the best game that can be played from the comfort of your home. Similar to traditional Bingo, Music Bingo replaces numbers with clips from popular songs. Rather than numbers, Music Bingo cards have song titles and artists under the B-I-N-G-O – when the songs played by the DJ appear on a player’s card, they mark it off and win prizes when they complete specific patterns such as 1 Line, 3 Lines, and Full Card. 3 chances to win universal prizes with the Bingo Other prizes will be available for those who interact most! Join us for the first Totes for Teens event, a hygiene drive for basic essentials for the youth at the Chilliwack Cyrus Centre, presented by Payton and Buckle along with Culture Co and 89.5 The Drive! On September 25th, from 10 am to 2 pm at the old Decades parking lot across from the Cyrus Centre, help us reach our goal of filling 100 backpacks with hygiene items such as shampoo, deodorant and all other necessities. There will be food trucks, swag giveaways and donations being sorted on site. Monetary donations will be accepted along with physical items. There will be a drive-thru donation area as well for those who wish to donate that way and donations can be dropped off starting September 9th at Payton and Buckle for those who cannot attend on the 25th. Generation Health is a FREE and VIRTUAL 10-week healthy lifestyle program for children and their families, delivered through the YMCA of Greater Vancouver and in partnership with the Childhood Obesity Foundation. Program participants will meet online once a week to learn about healthy eating, physical activity, goal setting, body image, self-esteem and more! There will be 4 programs days to choose from: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays from 6:30-8:30pm. This program requires prior registration and screening.
