We believe every child should learn to
swim and be safe in and around the
water. That’s why YMCAmemberships
include continuous swim lessons that
are convenient and allow children to
progress at their own pace.
• We help kids jump in, have fun, learn
to swim and grow their confidence.
• Our programs—from Bobbers to
Stars—give your kids the skills
needed for a lifetime of safe fun in the
water.
• Membership makes it easy for
families to be active together with
recreational swimming and family
swimming at convenient times.
• Membership includes all-day access
to Aquafit and lane swimming.
• For those 16 and older who have
their Bronze Cross, NLS or Star
6 accreditation already, we offer a
course in how to become a YMCA
Swim Instructor.
MEND - Mind, Exercise,
Nutrition... Do It!
Trying to maintain a healthy, active
lifestyle can be challenging. With
school, an abundance of screen
time and a busy family life, kids are
spending less time being active and
as a result, many are above a healthy
weight.
Helping kids grow up strong and
healthy is why the YMCA exists.
That’s why we offer MEND, a
provincially funded program that
empowers children and families to
become fitter and healthier.
This free and fun 10-week program
supports children ages 7-13 who are
above a healthy body weight to adopt
a healthy lifestyle. Parents/caregivers
join their children in each session to
learn about how to choose healthier
foods and spend more time being
physically active.
