is intended to be easily recognizable by

the viewer. The intention is to make the

viewer comfortable with the work, and then

BRUNELLA BATTISTA &

ARTIST BILL EDMUNDS

Dual Contrast: Two Advante Guarde

shows in one.

“Hyper-Reality” Born in Italy and living in

Chilliwack, Brunella Battista is an award

winning multimedia artist.

In her unique and immersive 3D photo

exhibit, life is captured in all its depth

and vibrancy, so close to almost touch it,

so real as to feel part of it. By looking IN

(rather than at) every picture, she affords

viewers the dream-like ability to get lost,

layer by layer, in the uncanny reality before

them.

COLOURING OUTSIDE

THE LINES

Local Abstract Artist Vincent Mikuska

has used hints and suggestions of

landscape elements in his work to try and

create an essence or experience of the

landscape. There is a willingness to create

associations between different elements

of a visual experience. A world where line

has poetic rhythm, colour a musical tone.

on recreating

the details of

what I see” The

effect is to be

a cumulative

effect of looking,

not a single

stare but what

happens as you

visually interact

with your

surroundings

over a given

time. Trying to get to the essence without

the details.
