& Ukulele
This group class is geared towards
adults wishing to learn the basic
technique of guitar or ukulele
playing. Literally hundreds of songs
use a basic series of chords; this
class leaves students with a wide
repertoire of songs. These sessions
are an ideal precursor to private
lessons, or as a refresher after not
playing for many years.
Kids’ Group Guitar
& Ukulele
(ages 8-12)
This fun and interactive class allows
beginning students the opportunity
to learn guitar in a relaxed group
setting. Literally hundreds of songs
can be played by learning only a few
chords, and after taking this class,
students will be well prepared to
continue with private guitar
or ukulele lessons.
Flute Choir
A fun ensemble for flute players of all
ages. Learn to play in a small group
setting, which gives the advantage
of training your ear, learn from other
students and styles, supportive team,
with a chance to try playing flute, pic-
colo, alto flute, and bass flute.
Music Theatre
In this class students will receive
vocal training in the musical theatre
style. In musical theatre, the song
is only the beginning! During the
six week course, they will learn
vocal exercises and technique,
character development, staging,
and choreography. These skills will
be learned through musical theatre
excerpts that will be staged and
choeographed.
ToniX
Chilliwack’s vocal ensemble for teen
girls! This high-energy, fun group
specializes in popular music. The
group performed as guests of the
Chilliwack Festival Chorus and won
R.J. Foster Choir Trophy. Members
learn to sing harmony to popular
songs and receive valuable vocal
training while having a blast.
Tayosei
“Tayosei” in Japanese means di-
versity. Students learn the basics of
reading music, singing in harmony,
and prepare for public performances.
But Tayosei is more than a children’s
choir! Students also learn ukulele
and hand drumming, and get to
experience several workshops by
visiting experts each year. This is an
ideal group for beginner voice and
piano students to learn essential
skills that will help them in their less-
sons.
Uke Club
Get ready for happiness unleashed!
Uke Club is a self-directed jam ses-
sion for players of all ability levels.
All you need is a uke and a passion
to strum and sing. This free drop-
in group meets at the Chilliwack
Regional Library, on the 1st and 3rd
Wednesday of every month.
Drum Circle
Where there is a heartbeat, there is
a rhythm! The drum circle is open to
everyone. No prior musical experi-
ence required. Come and find out
about this ancient practice and how
it enhance well being. Facilitated by
Remo trained facilitator Anya McRae
