Work:

The City of Chilliwack is seeking Requests for Expressions of Interest to design and construct the following works:

  • Widening of Young Road from Trethewey Avenue to First Avenue to allow for 5 lanes of traffic plus bike paths (approx. 600 meters);
  • Upgrading the Young Road/Cheam Avenue intersection including fully actuated pedestrian and vehicle signalization.

The objective of the Project is to make the necessary improvements to Young Road to provide improved vehicular movements and increased pedestrian walkways and bicycle lanes.

RFEI documents may be picked up at the City's Main Reception desk on or after April 6th, 2005 or may be downloaded from the City's web page at www.chilliwack.com/bids.  Inquiries may be directed to the City's representative "Frank Van Nynatten" at (604) 793-2954.  The pre-submission meeting will be held at :

Sealed EIs from Respondents clearly marked with the Respondent's name, adress and "2005 Young Road Improvement Project" shall be received by the undersigned at the office of the City of Chilliwack not later than 3:00 p.m., local time, April 26th, 2005.
