Emergency Preparedness Week - May 1 - 7, 2016

Sto:lo First Nation and Tzeachten First Nations are hosting this event:

Emergency Preparedness Day

May 7th 2016 - 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Many community organizations will be present showcasing their skills and resources to help elevate the effects of a disaster to our community. There will also be demonstrations on Family Preparedness including planning and creating Grab and Go Kits.

Neighborhood Preparedness and Community Awareness:

Local RCMP members showcasing their off road teams that use quads and boats targeting off road areas

Chilliwack Fire Department – fire extinguisher awareness

A new addition this year is Fire Smart Awareness helping the community understand some of the dangers and safety measure that can be done to keep your homes safe from wildland urban interface fires.

Chilliwack Amateur Radio Club – Wireless radio demonstrations
