Exemption Certificate
Residents can apply for an Exemption Certificate to water new sod or seeded lawns during water restrictions.
If possible, it is recommended that new sod or seed be installed during the spring or fall months in order to establish sufficient roots which would decrease your lawns dependence on surface watering in the summer.
An Exemption Certificate allows watering any day between 5 and 8 am or 7 and 10 pm during Stage 1 of water restrictions. During Stage 2 water restrictions, watering new lawns is allowed only between 5 and 8 am. Watering outside of these times may result in revoking of the certificate and a fine.
How to Apply for a Water Exemption Certificate
Email [email protected] with the following information:
- Receipt (for new sod or seed)
- Photo of new sod/seeded lawn
- Name
- Address
- Phone Number
Exemption Certificates will be valid for 21 days from the date of installation (or 14 days during Stage 2 Water Restrictions).
